3/8″ Drill Bit Extension – long as you need it
Well, I had to have a short extension for my 3/8 inch drive Forstner bit. Just had to. I went to three hardware stores and was pretty well convinced that they don’t sell such a thing. 1/4 inch, already got one. 3/8 inch, not in the store.
See the picture – the solution is there. I got a 24 inch long piece of 3/8 x 16 threaded rod and a coupling. Got out my 3/8 x 16 die (if you haven’t got one, they cost about $4). This may not work so well on a hardened steel drill bit, but was no problem at all on my cheap oriental metal (just the bit end is hardened on most of these).
