New bathroom for about $3500.00. My first bathroom install. I used off the shelf tile and created a cottage/traditional large walk in shower. I used the Kerdi waterproofing over cement board and the cement base that my husband(since he knows a thing or two about cement from over seeing a bridge project over the Snake River in Jackson Hole). I made my vanity from an old 6 panel door. Reused an Andersen window a neighbor got rid of. I Found the sink in my Dad’s barn. He said it was brand new in the box. What he didn’t tell me… the box was 30 years old. I made it work with a nice faucet I got from a Habitat Restore along with the sconces. The money I saved installing the bathroom myself allowed me to splurge on the glass panel and its installation. I softened it up with moulding from seconds along with the wall crown moulding from a blow down at a boys camp. Dad did all the planing and routing and installed the crown, while I installed the baseboard and the trim on the glass. The box above the vanity I made out of scraps and the counter was from a leftover oak door sill that Dad had made for the exterior doors. I still have to decorate it. But I have a kitchen and upstairs master bath to do first before I install the fluff. I learned a lot and cursed a lot but in the end (except for the punch list which will live on into infinity) I feel good about what I accomplished so far. There were no floor plans except for some early drawings I did from an online plan with my changes.
