combine power cords and dust pickup hoses on sanders. planers, saws etc.
When using hand power tools like belt sanders, planers or a contractors saw for example, the power cord and sawdust or chip pickup hose often tangle or catch on the edge of a bench or project forcing you to stop part way through a cut or pass. To keep things in a single bundle I use a handfull of hook and loop ties to combine the hose and cord. The ties are sold for bundling computer wires. One every foot or two along the hose stops the cord from snagging as the hose follows along the direction of the work. Some tools have fittings for my Festool dust collector hose and others can be adapted with an inexpensive vacuum pickup, some radiator hose ends and hockey tape.

That is a really great idea! Not only does it help you to save time by not stopping when you come across a cord while cutting your board, but it also help to promote safety. You can stumble and trip over a cord and potentially hurt yourself, and it might be severe due to the many dangerous tools inside a workshop. Even though they might already be stored in a storage cabinet, but who knows what might happen during an emergency scenario.
