A Master Bedroom/Bathroom Suite addition that required it’s own mechanical room in the new foundation for the dedicated furnace and AC. The Kohler DTV controlled steam shower is apporx 55SF and has its own dedicated 75gal water heater to service the 8 heads and 24gpm output. THe new bedroom suite is approx 1000SF and features a whirpool with a 2-way fireplace shared with the bedroom. The suite overlooks a private golf course and has its own private TREX deck complete with a custom glass balustrade and engineered to hold an 8000lb hot tub. Lighting and shade automation is featured throughout the addition and senses movement to turn lights and off. A portion of the bathroom addition is built over floor trusses and supported by concrete pillars. This was to keep the view for the basement level and to reduce the cost of the remodel/additon. 5 pictures is not enough to illustrate the challenges we faced as we did this project. The new foundation was dug through solid rock, where ALL of the utilites were located, and the old foundation had a doorway core cut from its wall to access the new space…. Heated tile floors and enginereed floors keep this northern Wisconsin home from having cold floors in the exposed areas. We build our own custom cabinets and feature them in several areas of this addition.

Great to see a project that addresses the issues I am about to face in the design of a living room/bathroom addition for my parents' cottage in Michigan. It too will be supported by pillars (off the back of the house) to keep views and light for the walk out basement below. Did you have an issues tying the portion of the addition on pillars back to the house? I may consider some of the nice upgrades you have included in your project, not sure I will have the budget. Thanks so much for sharing.
