My husband and I have been building our home ourselves (and calling in specialists as we go for more intricate projects). We started over 10 years ago, its been a LONG time coming but with two kids keeping us busy we are finally getting to the point of putting on the finishing details in certain rooms, the kitchen being one. We built a post and beam home so each project we take on comes with it’s issues. We are proud of our kitchen. We did hire someone to do the cabinets, much to my husbands dismay, however we made the right decision as they are georgeous. We have a cherry center island with soapstone countertops, and built in pantry and painted cabinets along the stove wall. We have features like dishwasher drawers, locked alcohol cabinet, kiddy corner broom closet, and a few drawers that my 9 yr old son can hide in (they are that big!). Our kitchen isn’t lavish, just good ole practical. We’d love for you to come by and see it.
