This is our DIY master bathroom remodel that we completed over the last year. The 60’s styling gave way to modern materials and building techniques – Schluter waterproofing system, linear drain, 12×24 large format porcelain tiles, caesarstone countertop, wall mounted faucets, and a floating cherry vanity. The bathroom has a beautiful ocean view, except that the toilet was placed mostly in front of the window, playing havoc with privacy. Not wanting to move or replace the window, we were able to move the toilet away from the window by going with a Geberit in-wall tank system, with a Toto wall hung toilet. This gave us the best combination of view and privacy. Other notable features include shower glass with no mounting brackets on the curb (minimizing risk of water damage to curb), and a large mirror with medicine cabinets at each end.
