This 80 square foot kitchen presented many challenges. A radiator consumed one wall, the refrigerator blocked a window and the poor layout provided only two feet of countertops. Space was annexed from an adjacent landing to accommodate the refrigerator allowing a new layout to maximize counters and storage. Maple cabinets and soapstone counters help this efficient modern kitchen relate to the 1920s home that surrounds it.
