The original kitchen was pretty bleak. Drop ceiling, multiple layers of resilient flooring, and minimal cabinet/counter space.
We opened up the entrance from the dining room to allow bar seating for two, raised the ceiling to create a cathedral effect, replaced windows to match the original with higher sills and added a window above the stove for more light. A second sink was added to prevent traffic jams during meal preparation. Custom high shelving was added for display of pottery and for decorative items.
