Quilted Redwood Victorian Fireplace Mantle with Hidden TV
A new fireplace constructed in a 1895 San Francisco Victorian. This quilted redwood mantle was a period-perfect find at a local architectural salvage yard, and matches the natural redwood trim throughout the living room. The flatscreen TV is concealed by an oil painting (“Big Fruit” by the owner’s mother). The painting is suspended on a hidden track system, and raises automatically.

This idea is really clever especially for houses that face a lack of storage space. Concealing the TV above the Victorian fireplace provides a flexible area for decoration as well as for entertainment purpose. It works just like a sofabed that serves as a sofa by day and a bed by night time.
