Custom designed fireplace built by homeowner and local mason Jack Santee. Design was inspired by Fine Homebuilding Article “A Rumford Fireplace, Southwestern Style” Dec. 1997. Rumford core was purchased from Cross-Fire Refractories and exterior was shaped freestyle as we went. Simple door was fabricated from aluminum plate and decorated with lizard sculpture.
