Reclaimed Fireplace
After encountering our renovation of a local boutique hotel in a modern rustic mountain aesthetic, Sierra Sustainable Builders was entrusted to apply our creative skills to transfrom an outdated fireplace. We built the flanking cabinets at our shop using locally reclaimed fenceboards. The mantle and tiled hearth trim are skip-sanded painted cedar, reclaimed from a previous project. The gas fireplace is surrounded by “core-ten” rusting metal scraps, from the material used to clad the severly weathered exterior of the chimney.
