Originally from Austria the owners would have preferred to live in a glass and steel cube, but in favor of the suburban Philadelphia community and surrounding architecture they chose to marry the two. The design of the new residence couples a European polished interior with a ‘sleeper’ American exterior. Clabbered with painted cedar siding, and a cedar shake roof the exterior evokes the neighborhood tradition.
Important to the heart of the home was a large kitchen, family and mudroom that supports the active lifestyle of the growing family and their regular gatherings of relatives and friends. Contemporary light filled spaces compliment clean and simple traditional details of the interior.
