tacking a moulding in place with a nail gun so the nails stand proud
If you want to use a trim nailer (I was using the DeWalt cordless 16 ga. w/ 1 1/4″ angled) to tack a moulding in place so someone can approve the look AND you want the nails standing proud so you can use flush nippers to grab the nail and pull it out for easy trim removal BUT you also want that trim held tightly in place? Just place a scrap piece of 1/2″ thick backer board (used behind barn shake siding) against the trim, push the gun against it and fire that nail! Pull the backer board off and easily clean off the tiny remaining piece of it and, voila! 🙂
