Our Clients travel quite a bit for business so they want their home to be an oasis where they stay home to relax and feel like they’re at a contemporary resort.Their request was for a larger Master Bathroom with a larger shower, whirlpool tub and double bowl sink. We found another location for the Closet which enabled us to enlarge the Master Bathroom space. The oversized shower includes frameless glass, river rock floor, rain shower head, vertical mosaic accent tile, hand held shower head and a large shower seat.Moving plumbing fixtures around can sometimes create some challenges; which was no different in this Master Bathroom. The trough drain in the shower is in part of the floor that cantilevers over the foundation wall below, which made the installation difficult and required additional insulation so the pipes won’t freeze.Wenge wood was chosen for the cabinet veneer and mahogany wood for the interior doors in the Master Suite. One of the most difficult challenges was to accomplish the Client’s request to finish the mahogany Bathroom door and casing to match factory finished wenge cabinets. It took some creative thinking along with and muscle power to lift and lower the corner whirlpool tub into place due to the closeness of the walls around the tub. The floating glass shelves add some interest and whimsy to an otherwise large expanse of open wall.
