The Sundog project was done on site. All the kiln dried boards were brought to the house uncut. A rough design was used as a guide, but ultimately the boards were what determined the finial design.
I’ve also posted photos of another project that includes a wood inlay portraying a buck head and antlers.

After cutting and gluing down all the pieces, I fill with ebony filler to highlite the designs.
I edge and buff to prep for finish.
The character of the wood and design is enhanced by the oil base polyurethane.
The artwork flows from the living room into the dining room creating path by design.
The balcony view shows the whole living room design which was base on the Sundog phenomenon.

OuradaDesigns,
Fascinating technique for flooring!
Can you share a little about the subfloor required, fastening method and durability of these over time?
PS This is eye-catching flooring artwork like I've never seen! I'll bet that if you re-arrange your photos so that one showing the finished product is first you'll get a lot more traffic to your post. Just sayin'...
I have produce these kinds of floors on both 3/4"OSB and 3/4" plywood over 16"OC and concrete. All have been and will be glue down applications.
The oldest is over three years old and still holding strong. As with any wood floor, it is best to have a humidity controlled environment as wood floors don't respond well to severe moisture changes.
Here in Spokane WA area the we typically see a few weeks of very low humidity and cracks open up but close up with time
Please inquire with more questions if you have any, I will try to respond in a more timely manner.
