Our client wanted a distinct kitchen space in their new build home, but still open to the living room and dining room to entertain and also become the hub for this family of five. The client’s needs were a large eat-in island, plenty of counter and storage space, and a space full of light. We remedied this with lots of windows and transoms to divide the space. The cabinet storage is ample with a pantry and butler’s pantry, drawers and cabinets in the island and a lunch prep area accessible to children. We also kept the kitchen visually light by using undercounter ovens rather than a wall oven unit, open shelves in the corner and plenty of floor space.
