I’ve never been comfortable with that scary first step on a ladder when coming down off the roof. Especially if I have a full load of tools or materials, All I can think of is the splat I’ll make when I hit the ground. My solution? Make sure that the rung I step on is above the roof, and that ther is plenty of ladder to hang on to above the roof. If you’re stepping up, there’s no leaning out to place your foot on that rung so far below. Now, Tarzan has nothing on me!
