Garden Shed Restoration
This garden shed dates back to the early 1900’s. The bottom 3′ of the structure was rotted out. After bracing the interior and exterior of the structure we jacked the corners and set about to removing the rot.
After the studs, sheathing, siding and interior wainscotting was removed we set about putting it back together. New treated 2x4s were sistered to each side of the salvaged suds with a cripple installed under the cut off existing stud. Treated 3/4″ plywood was used for the new sheathing and new copper york flashing was installed at the sill. the new siding is t&g western red cedar. We were able to source 20′ lengths to do the long sides of the shed with out splicing. The new water table is mahogany and the quoins are western red cedar.
