We manage a construction Co. and this is our own kitchen remodel. The original kitchen was quite generic. I longed for a custom design that would wrap around me and provide everything I need, as I need it. Hopes fulfilled! This layout exceeds. The Previous Kitchen had two windows in the corner. We seperated them and put one of them directly in front of my chopping center. In front of this window I have a luxurious knife drawer, one filled with every size of cutting boards, and the pullout garbage can drawer for trash and recycle/compost so I just chop and prep and scraps go into one of these handy bins. The other window is directly in front of the lovely farm sink which boasts another favorite feature, the touch faucet! Our island is home to everything I need to cook for my family of 5. Two large drawers for pots and pans, a custom sized drawer for all of my oils, a large and well organized spice drawer just to my right , space for utencils, baskets for my potatos and onions, and a drawer style microwave. Opposite the induction stove top are the 3 bar stools. Our old kitchen had a stove in the middle of the counter space against a wall. Now that it is in the center island my family hangs out with me and we chat while I cook. A major life improvement! Also special about the island is the leather finish on the granite. Unusual and Beautiful. The table looks quite different as it was formerly a very yellow pine. We love this large kitchen table and were so grateful to be able to refinish it with a new color scheme to fit the space. Behind that white door is a descent sized pantry which hasn’t changed much. Last but not least is the breakfast bar. The Miele coffee maker was a reward for a job very well done by my husband and Construction Manager at Nine Inc. Behind the cabinet doors is everything you could ever need for a delicious breakfast and an amazing cup of coffee. Additionally noteworthy are the Quik-Step Laminate floor which is durable enough to stand up to three kids and lots of large pets, and theChicago Brick tile on the sliding glass door wall. They both do much to add warmth to this space.
