Kitchen remodel within existing 10′ x 11′ room. Old appliances were made before homeowners were born. Old pressboard cabinets were junk the day they left the factory. Old vinyl wallpaper and old self stick vinyl flooring were wearing thin and ugly. Limited counterspace and nowhere for visitors to sit.
Gutted room to studs, updated all wiring, installed new wood lath and three coat gypsum plaster. Demolished old brick utility chimney to gain crucial corner. New archway to turn old enclosed back porch into new breakfast bar. Added 7 feet of countertop length. New appliances, new (salvaged) cabinets, new countertops, new lighting, new finishes complete.
After living in this house for 20 years, finally got around to fixing up the kitchen. It was worth the wait. Now we spend all of our time at home in the glorious new kitchen.
