This project was part of a kitchen renovation and living room addition to an historic 1870’s Queen Anne style home. The original house had a large summer kitchen attached to the existing. This space was not heated or insulated and was never used by the current owners. It also cut the kitchen and living spaces off from the large open backyard. The existing kitchen was small, outdated and closed off from the rest of the house. The owners wanted to update the kitchen and also open up the house to the backyard.
The new kitchen features custom built cabinets, granite counters and a salvaged bar from the owners childhood home, which was used as the kitchen island. The new plan added a living room with breakfast nook off the kitchen and opened the house up to the backyard bringing in natural light into the kitchen.
