The essence of this coastal inspired home can be summed up in one word: “retreat.” Upon entering, one feels as though they are about to witness a warm sunset or explore an extensive white-sanded beach. Inhabitants of this home lead a simple, laid-back lifestyle. The pure and naturally beautiful things in life are appreciated here. We drew our inspiration from the town of Seaside in Florida’s Panhandle, which was built to be an old-fashioned beach town with traditional wood-framed cottages. Our goal was to create the same warm and inviting feeling of this town. The end result proved to be the epitome of authentic beach living. Rustic materials and muted tones provide a casual environment for people of all ages to visit and enjoy. A welcoming entryway offers a basket of towels to accommodate those who want to spend the day at the beach. Eight inch wood paneling continues throughout the entire home and accentuates the beachy vibe. The inviting floorplan leads into the main living space, where a soft, neutral color palette encourages relaxation. Add in the mix of warm, brown woods and comfortable chic is achieved. The kitchen displays two colors of Italian cabinetry harmoniously integrated with the simple white subway tile backsplash. A rustic dining table contrasts with the contemporary chandeliers suspended above it. Copious amounts of natural light add to the airy and carefree nature of the home. A large glass wall connects the common spaces with the enticing open, ocean air. The master bedroom is kept private on the main level and is conveniently located near the laundry room. This retreat radiates a relaxing atmosphere through a color palette of whites, creams and khakis. There is beauty in the small details of this home, such as a rope handrail that draws you upstairs. Even the loft creates a wonderful space for grandkids to play, explore creativity with art, or unwind with a good book.
