We removed a load-bearing wall so that we could increase the size of the kitchen and we needed to incorporate the new beam into the ceiling design. We knew the kitchen would take many months to build because the cabinets were all custom built solely by my husband John and it would take time. We designed the new kitchen so that we could keep the old kitchen in use until the main components of the new kitchen were able to be used. We built the new kitchen in sections and we altered the design along the way as we got more comfortable with the layout and what was wasn’t working. Truly a custom project that now meets our every need and accommodates lots of entertaining!
