I use a small artist brush to wipe out the top of a paint can to help prevent the paint from drying and making the lid difficult to remove once it has been on the can for a long while. No one likes a kid stuck to the can. I also label with permanent marker the tops of the cans as to what room, etc the paint was for and date of use for simplicity sake.
