As we know, it is easier to compress fiberglass insulation before cutting makes. This jig allows the user to quickly and efficiency compress the insulation to cut it. Attaching it to the plywood not only provide a stable work platform by it allows users to mark various measurements for quick repetitive cuts.
Attach a hinge to the end of two pieces of scrape 2x material. I like have one longer as the excess acts as a handle. Screw one of the legs to a piece of plywood. Mark the various measurements of insulation back from “jaws” of the 2x’s. Now pull through the “jaws”, align the end of the insulation with the predetermined line, compress the insulation using the “jaws” of the 2x and cut along the end of where they meet.
This was post I made on Instagram and Mike Guertin suggested that I submit it here.
