Is it time to change utility knife blades?

I mark my freshly changed utility knife blades so I’ll know whether they will need to be changed after I flip them to a fresh edge.  The main advantage is that it saves me the frustration and disappointment of flipping to an already-dull edge.

    Can you really not tell when a blade is dull?
    Besides all the markings on it from cutting and the oil residue, you can run it perpendicularly across your fingernail to see if it's still sharp.
