A three or four inch piece of flashing tape does a great job at sealing a half used tube of caulk. Simply remove the flashing tape backing and fold it sticky side in over the tip of the tube. When you are ready to use the caulk peel the flashing tape off. Mineral spirits will help clean any residual tape goo.
