Oceanfront environments are one of the most abusive and corrosive environments for a home to survive in. From hurricane-force winds, velocity flooding, high humidity, and corrosive salt air, the opportunity here was to design and engineer this home with structural and low maintenance features that would allow it to last many generations to come. Features such as cement board siding, hurricane rated standing seam metal roof, impact-rated casement windows, composite decks, and stainless steel fasteners all play their role in the design of low maintenance and longevity.
