Fast and Accurate Wall Framing
For Fine Homebuilding author Mike Norton, calling framing “rough carpentry” is a misnomer. While framing isn’t as glamorous as finish carpentry, it’s the hub around which the whole job turns. An experienced framer can make everyone else’s job much easier. While the skills for framing are relatively simple—straight and square cuts, a good hammer technique, economy of motion, a strong back—there are many tricks that make the job easier and the results more professional.
