Running Out of Leftovers and Shingle Scraps
The organized leftover pile made it easy to find usable pieces. And good shingle management minimized waste.
Bruce has been burning through the leftover pile of pieces of sheathing and 2x cut-offs. He ended up having to cut into a full sheet of sheathing for the cornerboard blocking. It’s amazing how much use he got out of the “waste” pieces that on many job sites would have ended up in a Dumpster. Now only small pieces are left.
Nick, Addy, Max, and Derek made good use of the shingle fall-offs when cutting in gable ends and fill-ins along roof-to-wall connections. They integrated dozens and dozens of shingle pieces from 10 in. to 2 ft. that would have otherwise been thrown away. In the end, we only had half a bag of shingle scraps to throw away.
