The right materials and the right tools make a job easier and make the finished project look more professional. On the FHB House we’re using FibaTape and NoCoat inside and outside corners on the CertainTeed drywall. The beads and tape install faster and reinforce joints better than paper tape and metal beads. And for students learning how to apply compound the NoCoat beads result in crisp professional looking corners.
We started applying the NoCoat corners with taping knives and the results were good. Then we tried the NoCoat inside and outside corner rollers to squeeze out most of the bedding compound and the ease of installation and appearance improved dramatically.
Once Brandon, Damian, Cameron, and Max got the knack for applying the compound and operating the rollers, their production increased several-fold.
I didn’t make it easy for them though — we started right out using setting-type compound rather than pre-mixed. The benefit there is stronger joints — especially where interior walls meet exterior walls without corner studs. Plus the setting compound is ready to recoat in a few hours. The downsides, of course, is the limited working time with each batch and the importance of a thorough cleanup between batches to prevent batch contamination and hardening on tools.
NoCoat inside and outside corner beads are a laminated plastic / paper that hold a rigid straight shape. The outside corners are a direct replacement for metal corner bead. The inside corners are replacement for folded paper tape. Because the beads hold their shape they form crisp inside and outside corners. They are called ‘no coat’ because you just bed the beads in a thin coat of joint compound and then feather the compound that squeezes out . The slight taper on the NoCoat beads means there’s no compound needed on the inner inch of the beads – only on the outer 1/2 in. of paper. The result is faster installation, less compound, quicker drying / recoating time and crisp uniform corners.

No link to sources? Minimal explanation of the techniques used to apply these? No discussion of the cost benefit? Is this article at all useful? Very disappointing...
Ha ha, yes I read the whole article... All 4 paragraphs... and I still don't know what "nocoat" is.
just Google "nocoat", you'll get several links.
Excited to try.
new design paint work good look
amazing design!!
although setting compound will help fiba tape last longer it's much more prone to cracks better suited to commercial applications. No coat is great expensive way to set corners though. Nice and neat job though , keep it neat and clean and your end product will shine :)
