After some of our Facebook followers asked to see Norma and Walter Ward’s impressive backyard train set in action, Norma was gracious enough to create and share this YouTube video with us. She also sent us more photos so we could enjoy every detail up close.

Norma and Walter Ward's backyard is a miniature wonderland. The koi pond and train tracks are in the foreground, with the front goldfish pond on the right. All the work was done by Norma and Walter.
This photo provides a closer look at the front fishpond and two of the garden paths built by Walter.
The train tracks are on concrete curbs. Before the concrete was completely set, Walter roughed up the surface a bit to give it a more natural look.
LGB trains introduced the G-scale to model railroading. LGB stands for Lehmann Gross Bahn, which means "Lehmann big railway" in German. Because of their size and durability, LGB trains are often used outdoors.
The ponds are planted with both day- and night-blooming lilies.
The rear goldfish pond features a waterfall and a Japanese-inspired footbridge.
The soothing burble of gently moving water can be heard throughout the yard.
Each winter, Walter protects these plants and other items in the yard from the elements by erecting a large tent.
This comfortable swing is a perfect perch for parents watching little ones in the pool.
