Drilling Holes Through Studs in Tight Places
What to do when the drill and bit are longer than the space between the studs.
Here’s a beginning wiring tip from a pro, Cliff Popejoy, a leadman on a volunteer crew for Habitat for Humanity in Sacramento, California. It may be counter-intuitive, but a longer bit is better for tight spots. Watch as Cliff demonstrates the technique for drilling through studs with only four inches of clearance on a side.
